What is in a name??

I'm usually a creative person. But, a name for my blog...drew a blank. I'm not sure why; I just created my son's business name: Rivendell Masonry and Construction. For those of you who are JRR Tolkien fans, of course Rivendell is the "last homely home" in the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings before everyone sets out on the perilous journey. My son, Terry, was pretty much onboard with the name, probably because he was too busy running the business, however, he did question "Mom, doesn't that mean that Hobbit-type people will be calling me to fix their stuff?" I reminded him that Hobbit-type people also have money, and pretty much brushed it off, and went ahead designing the business cards and legalizing the name with New York State. Until, that is, a potential client actually e-mailed him in Elvish. As Dave Berry would say "You can't make this stuff up!"
"Don't even get me started..." is the line that I love from my current favorite mysteries, the Chet and Bernie series by Spencer Quinn. Chet is the dog. He loves most humans, but is often quite perplexed by them. For instance, he doesn't understand why his owner, Bernie, is always complaining and worrying about water being short and wasted where they live in southern California, as Chet sees plenty of water on golf courses, as they drive around, obviously flowing in abundance and lush green lawns. So, yeah, you get it...don't even get me started!
