Dear Blog Readers, I am so happy to announce that my debut mystery, SPF 1500: You Are Protected, But You're Not Safe, is out in print and available through Amazon in paperback or e-book (Kindle, your phone, tablet, laptop).

In this blog issue I will give you a few, exciting exerts from the book, and a short contest which you can enter.

Back cover book description:

"In the year 2029, against the backdrop of a world that is continuing to heat up, and a United States that continues to be torn apart by division, scientist, Emma McCall attempts to find the killer of her twin brother, a beloved Cornell Professor, father and husband. Emma must confront the past and possibly take on a fight against giant corporations intent on greed and destruction. She is aided by Sr. Detective, Jada Jefferson, who leads her team, working round the clock to solve the murder before the killer ultimately strikes again. The suspect trail grows cold while romance and passion grow hot, as corruption, corporate greed and the lives and loves of diverse and captivating characters are revealed in the heart of New York’s beautiful Finger Lakes. SPF 1500: You Are Protected, But You’re Not Safe is a thrilling, futuristic, speculative mystery mash-up where dreams of utopia teeter so closely to the edge of the apocalypse. Our heroines are driven by their love of their community, a community that they are depending on to help bring a killer to justice."

Excerpts from this exciting thriller:

"Rain had been threatening for the past two days. Dark Clouds would form, the wind would pick up, bending the branches of the trees and whipping around old, dry-brown leaves, dust and debris, and then, as suddenly as the clouds had appeared, they would dissipate leaving behind a humid heaviness hanging over the city. Jada felt the murder investigation, deep in her bones, in a similar vain. They would get close to breaking the case, things would rattle, nerves would tingle and jump, and then, it would break apart, but, still, the heaviness would hang. She walked through Dorothy Cotton Park towards the Congregational Church..."

"On her knees, in the gravel grinding into her bare shins, her mouth tasting of bile, tears mixing with the mucus running off her face, she screamed and cursed. She was angry at Chad for never trusting her to tell her. She was mad at herself for always believing how close she and her brother were- now that seemed like a lie..."

"Bobbie, you were right." Bobbie looked up surprised. Jada was hoping that the acknowledgement would disarm her. "You were right that this is a very dangerous person, and not somebody to mess with. I think the Wests can keep your kids safe, but, for how long? How long do they stay hidden away? How long are you going to be looking over your shoulder for? Bobbie, you've got to trust me...."
